Paying Homage to Circe

Poem for a long weekend

Sentenced to solitude
i inhabit a concrete island,
a once sensory disco of blazing, urban lights,
fashioned by demigods.

A slow burn of hours melts into days,
as I try to conjure a dormant magic that will restore a child’s wonder of ordinary things.
